Job Description:
The IT Co-op Program at Johnson & Johnson is a comprehensive learning and professional experience in the technology space at one of the world's leading health care companies. This program works as a feeder pool to our Information Technology Leadership Development Program for full-time employment, which student employees will learn about, and will be able to pursue upon successfully completing the Co-op and their degree program.
General Overview
Candidates apply for one overall IT Co-op position that makes him/her eligible for specific department opportunities. Our Co-op positions are usually for 6 months of full-time work. Positions can be located in various locations throughout the US.
These positions involve a range of Information Technology assignments which could include (in addition to others):
e-business and project leadership opportunities with direct business impact
applications development for internal customers
infrastructure projects across business sectors and segments
A Co-op should expect to own the following roles and
Responsibilities:
contribute individually and/or as a team member to support a designated
functional area
work towards goals and objectives assigned by experience owner
(manager)
analyze business processes for reengineering opportunities
work within a group in IT that supports a functional area of the business
Some of our more technical Co-op assignments include opportunities for Java Developers / Software Engineers, as an example. Our development teams create applications for Android, iOS and web for our different operating companies and business units, including Bio-Sensor and Device Integration. We utilize a variety of platforms, including PHP, SQL/MySQL, UX, Java/JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Symfony2, Jira GreenHopper, Crucible, Sonar, Subversion, AJAX, Spring & Hibernate. We are interested in your experience and desire to code and create in these languages and more.
Housing Assistance
Based on location of assignment, Johnson & Johnson offers housing assistance to Co-ops who live more than 50 miles from their work-site location. This housing assistance includes options for subsidized rent in a fully-furnished apartment close to the work-site location, or a stipend payment for candidates to use at their discretion. Daily transportation to and from the work-site location is the student's responsibility, as most locations are not accessible via public transportation and company transportation is not provided.
Qualifications
Successful Co-op candidates must:
have permanent work authorization in the US. We cannot consider students
requiring future sponsorship.
have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, which is reflective of all college
coursework.
be currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelors degree. Preferred fields are
Information Management, Information Technology, Computer Engineering,
Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering /
Development, or something equivalent.
have a passion for a career in technology.
students in their Sophomore year and higher are strongly preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
