Our client is a small but rapidly growing company where each software engineer on the team has the power to contribute in a major way. The SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) Software Platform manages over 2 million transactions and 40 million users with 1,500+ clients. Their servers easily handle up to 20 million hits per day and over 6 terabytes of data. They are recognized to be in the top 3 by customer count within the industry, and generates about $40M in annual revenue.
Our client is seeking a motivated strong leader to drive strategy and the firm's success even further as they grow within their current market as well as extend the SaaS Platform to be an indispensable tool in strategic area within its respected domain. The Technical Development Manager of Product Development is in charge of all core software development for the company and reports into the Director of Product Development.
The Technical Development Manager of Product Development will be responsible for the following:
o Lead a team of highly talented individuals in the design, build, unit test, and release great software
o Ensure a fun, dynamic work environment & build merit-based culture which appeals to the top talent in the software engineering field
o Customer-focused approach by keeping existing customers happy to drive high renewal rates
o Facilitate increased sales by delivering a competitive product and adding functionality desired by prospects
o Oversee half of the Core Development team. There are approximately 25 employees total within software development presently, with an anticipated growth of 20%+ year-over-year
o Extend the core capabilities to support current product portfolio of Connect, Recruit and Onboard
o Measure departmental performance by implementing & refining metrics
Staff Management:
o Oversee Agile/SCRUM development teams within the Product Development Department
o Delegate and assign projects, duties, goals to SCRUM Masters and software engineers
o Work with HR to interview, hire, promote, and release software engineers
o Perform work plan, performance, and salary reviews for direct reports
o Approve and oversee vacations, personal days, and schedule changes for engineers
o Provide on-going assistance and advice to engineers.
o Must have 3+ years of Technical Project Management and/or Technical Team Lead experience having led teams of over 10 members. You should have experience working in a position with similar scope & responsibilities with a track record of success. The ideal candidate would be one that successfully grew "up the ranks" within the software engineering field.
o Passionate, driven, strong leadership skills, customer focused and outstanding communication skills
o Must have experience leading a software engineering organization, preferably out of a SaaS firm or experience in the delivery SaaS development projects is highly desired
o Experience leading an Product Development, R&D or Software Engineering groups using SCRUM or another type of Agile is a must
o Knowledge of some or all of the tools & technologies currently in use is a plus: Java, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Apache Tomcat, Linux, Eclipse, Selenium 2.0 & Web Driver, Subversion, etc.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
