The NB Chancellor's Business and Admin Services department reports to the Vice Chancellor for Finance of the New Brunswick Campus.
The department provides business operations support to multiple departments reporting to the New Brunswick Chancellor as well as direct business support to the Office of the New Brunswick Chancellor.
Reporting to the Sr.
Director of Business Operations of the New Brunswick Chancellor's Office, the Accounting Assistant provides direct business, accounting, and administrative support to the New Brunswick Chancellor's Business Office.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides back-up support to other units reporting to the New Brunswick Chancellor as needed.
Performs professional work requiring knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology, and applied basis of accounting.
Responsible for approval of requisitions in the University's procurement system, preparation of requisitions in the University's procurement system, monthly reconciliation of invoices and payments, and new supplier requests.
Processes journal entries, reviews expense reports for compliance with the University's travel and business expense policy, and prepares access forms for University procurement, human resources, and financial systems.
Responsible for Human Resources transactions which includes commitment accounting transactions, and payroll time sheet entry.
Provides very precise, conscientious attention to details and have the ability to multi-task.
Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Day Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.
