Legal Assistant

A legal services firm in New Jersey is looking to add a Spanish-speaking Legal Assistant for a promising opportunity with their growing staff.
In this role, the Bilingual Legal Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Lawyer to enhance law office effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
The Bilingual Legal Assistant will be responsible for:
Communicating with clients, law offices, insurance adjusters, medical offices, and experts Assisting in preparing for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials Preparing and file complaints, motions, briefs, and arbitration statements Preparing special packages, discovery demands, and answers to interrogatories Reviewing the discovery provided and summarize deposition testimony Composing e-mails and correspondence Monitoring deadlines and maintaining the law office calendar Preparing disbursement of settlement funds and requesting checks from the Accounting Department Answering inquiries from potential new clients Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
5 years of working experience as a legal Assistant and/or Legal Secretary in the Personal Injury area of law Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree Bilingual (English and Spanish) Computer savvy Familiarity with New Jersey e-Courts and N.
J.
Court rules & Legal procedures Solid problem solving and time management skills Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Recommended Skills Attention To Detail Communication Coordinating English Interpersonal Skills Problem Solving Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
